Hey Guys & Girls, I don't have a horse in this race, but I can tell you from my own hands on knowledge. We have had bikes for five years. I have sponsored riders every year and always had a rider on the podium at Loretta Lynn's. And I know one thing for sure. And that is Chad at MotoTech has made our bikes faster and stronger than any of the other mechanics we have used. My son rides a RM-125 & a RMZ250. It does not matter who he lines up with. He always gets the hole shot. These bikes pull better than anything we have ever rode. Strong, smooth and fast. We start in 2nd on the 125 and third on the 250 pulling 450's almost every time.
Chad told us we would like how the bikes pull and he was right. And we only had the Stage One Mod. I can't wait to try the Stage Two Mod.
well honestly, since you have moto-tech doing your work, you most certainly have a dog in this fight! one thing about me, i ask that my riders do NOT come on a public forum to back up any of my results. i let my own work and results do the talking and i speak for myself! anyone that thinks that starting in 4th gear is the way to go, is drinking some seriously strong kool-aide. if i am lying, then ask ANY professional racer whether it be in mx, sx, rr, st, or sm. if its asphalt start, its 1st gear. if its a dirt start, its second!

Come on Rob, you havent resorted to picking on girls now have you? LOL. Seriously though, Holly is a good girl and loves this industry just like we do. She does not have a lot of experience yet, but she is smart enough to make observations and draw her own conclusions.
lol, no no, i did not mean to sound ike i was picking on her, but i will say that without any first hand RIDING experience, laying down claims such as those is quite rediculous. there is no knowledge like first hand knowledge.

i'm sorry i'm throwin a flag
I will ask eddie snow if he would be willing to come over and race and become part of this "test" so everyone there can see his 4th gear start that is supposedly not competitive.

Lets do it! we should be a able to draw a pretty big crowd. I will even put a couple of 250fs up against your fuel injected 450 bob. If the bike actually was not in its power curve you guys would both be correct.
seriously, i am not trying to drag any dirt here but you do realize how rediculous you sound right? in a first gear turn, going maybe 10-15mph, in 4th gear, most likely it would stall, if not, you would be so far below the torque curve it would be dumb. mototech pr, what bike do you ride? whats your skill level? riding background? just curios because you are throwing around some big claims. anywho, i guess ill have to show up at smxa next race:) Come on Rob, you havent resorted to picking on girls now have you? O YEA !!! bring it on SMXA will make time for the " half time show '' - pregame show or whatever fashion YALL decide on. Although Chad and I are partners at Moto-Tech, Rob does help " G " as he will not ride anything but those Orange bikes and Rob at D & D KTM does help him out. I will just be the place where it goes down. The innocent bystander if you will. I like that, by the way I didn't get to race last time and if my knee continues on the path it's on I might be able to defend my charge to the back of the pack as I do in most all races. We will see let me know I'm all for it!!!

It does sound ridiculous but its true. SMXA has a race coming up soon. I'm willing to bet i could get Kevin to let Rob, Bob, and a few of our riders to line up on 250fs that we built. All of our guys will either start in 3rd or 4th gear. can be witnessed by anyone in the crowd. We could do a series of starts back to back to see if the results are just luck or if it is the real thing. This little exhibition may even draw a larger crowd for kevin and crystal. Ive seen chads bike with several different riders do a 5mph inside corner in 3rd gear with no clutching and pull the front wheel coming out. It is nearly impossible to bog those bikes down.
I just learned how to ride. Chad taught me to ride a yz85, and am no where near ready to race yet. I am making claims based on what i have heard feedback from customers and team riders, as well as what i have witnessed with my own eyes. Chad has let several people try holeshots on his bike in 3rd and 4th gear here at the shop. Every single one became a customer and purchased the carb mod. The funny thing is that his mod motor has been blown to pieces for about 6 months now due to a theft. This claim is made on a bike that has stock internals from the cylinder/piston down. Only the head, carb, cam, and exhaust are modified. Let us know if you guys really want to do this, we will arrange it with kevin.

That is absolutely stupid. Why Isn't any Pro starting off in 4th gear then? I also highly doubt that a 250f in 4th gear is going anywhere past a 450 from a start.

i've been around motorcycle for thirty years if you can do a competitive 4th gear start on a motorcycle with few carb changes i would have to see it.then i would ask why would you engineer something that takes the motor out of its prime torgue and power range.yes i do know a little about it
This mod does not take an engine out of its prime torque curve, it widens it!! lol, ill tell ya what, sit next to me on the starting gate, leave in 4th gear, ill leave in second. see who gets to the turn first. then lets both hit a slowcorner together. ill be in second gear and you in 4th. ask mehow my roost tastes
